During dinner, Carlo sees Jake go over and sit with Oceana. Carlo on the other hand, is sitting with Rosa, reluctantly. Rosa seems to be glancing over at Oceana and Jake that are over at the other table. |

"Is there something wrong with one of the instructors sitting with an initiate? Thought I might as well talk to you. I'd like to get to know the initiates, mostly because I never know which ones will make it. The other instructors and I are trying to make our own guesses." Jake says. He glances around at the other initiates, trying to scope out which ones he wants on his team for capture the flag.
Carlo began talking to Rosa to see why she was acting so rude to the other initiates.
"So, what do you have against Oceana?" Carlo questions Rosa.
"Well, she's an obnoxious girl that obviously can't get over herself." Says Rosa. "Watch, she'll hate me for this."
Rosa then shouts over to Oceana. "Watch this, Oceana!" She pulls Carlo towards her and forcefully kisses him. He doesn't kiss back, and tries to pull away. When he does, he yells at Rosa.
"What the heck, Rosa!" He yelled at her, followed by some cursing. She grinned and walked away. Carlo put his head down on the table. Rosa was a jerk. Now he knew he had no chance of even being friends with Oceana. |

Oceana, having seen Rosa kiss Carlo, was furious. But only at Rosa, since she heard Carlo object.
Excusing herself for a second, Oceana stood up and walked over to Rosa. "You remind me of this one transfer here into Dauntless about ten years ago. She forced herself onto every guy who any of the other girls liked. She eventually got kicked out of Dauntless, after the first stage, for being more focused on the guys than her training. Get your priorities straight before you get kicked out as well."
She turns and heads back to the table where she sat next to Jake. "Totally just made that up to scare her," she tells him, barely above a whisper so Rosa doesn't hear it.

After everyone is done with dinner- and all of the drama, Jake tells everyone to head to the train to get ready for capture the flag.
When Carlo jumps on to the train, he is met by Rosa, Oceana, and the other initiates. Glaring at Rosa, he hopes he doesn't end up on her team.
When Jake and the other instructor come in, they begin to choose teams. Jake starts. "I want Rosa." He says.

The other instructor picked Oceana, who was thankful not to end up with Rosa.

Jake picked the boy, Ash, who had been shot in the shoulder earlier in initiation. The other instructor picked Carlo. After the rest of the initiates were picked, there were two teams of seven. The two instructors explained the game and gave everyone a gun, explaining how they worked.

"These guns aren't real, but when shot by one of their bullets, it feels like a real shot. It won't kill you though." Said the instructor other than Jake. His name was Rax.
"Now, all of you, with your leaders and to the field. Rax, I'll give your team a head start." Says Jake. Rax nods.

When they head down to the area for the game of Capture the Flag, Rax assigns Oceana leader.
"You make the decisions, chick. That or we can have Rosa's muscle boy over here do that." He says, motioning to Carlo when saying the second part. |

Oceana bites her bottom lip in thought. "Well, Jake would most likely chose to hide the flag in a place where he would think we don't know where or how to get to it. Let's start by listing out some places in the immediate area that would be a good place to hide a lighted up flag."
Oceana takes the flag and opens up a sewer grate that has long since dried up. Putting some leaves and such ontop of the flag, she stands back to make sure no one can see it.
"Those of us who are on the guarding detail, gaurd a building with plenty of people on the roof and on the ground facing the direction of the grate, but have enough people around the rest of the building so if they find you, they'll believe that we have it in that building. Don't have anyone look directly at the grate, but have them sweep the area constantly, so it isn't suspicious to watch the grate. Understood?"

"Understood." Carlo says. The others nod and some of them head off, while others get ready to guard. Carlo decides to stay with Oceana, since he wants to ask her something.
"Hey, uhm, Oceana? You know how Rosa... Uhm... Yeah. Just thought I'd let you know- I think she's a jerk for that." Says Carlo. |

Carlo nods, he then runs off and joins the others in finding Jake's team flag.
Rax comes over to Oceana. "So, heard you like him." Rax said. Despite the fact he didn't really give a darn, Rosa had promised him something to find out.
As they are standing there, there is a rustle in the bushes. |
