Oceana had taken off the badage for her new tattoo, and was getting strange stares about it. She wore a tank top and short shorts, something she would never of done in Erudite. Her hair was straight down, unlike the usual high ponytail. She sat in her bed, reading the newspaper, waiting for Jake to come and tell them what they were doing for the day.

Carlo waits for Jake to come in and inform them of today's events. When Jake does come in, he says that today we will be doing knife throwing and later tonight, capture the flag. He wanted all of the initiate transfers to the training area in 10 minutes. Carlo is already dressed and heads down to the training room. He's the first one there. |

Oceana was second, and started before the third person even came in. She hit with extreme accuracy, and held the knives like she's been practicing for years. Her new tattoo is visible.

Carlo began throwing knives as well. He hit well, but not as well as he had hoped. He knew he'd get better though. He caught himself glancing over at Oceana a few times and looking at the new tattoo on her hip. |

Oceana waits for everyone to finish throwing knives before retreading hers. She had hit the target everytime, all surrounding the bull's eyes in a circle except her first one, which was in the dead center. "I've been practicing this for longer than I can remember," she explained to no one in particular as she threw another knife. "It's almost more natural than breathing."

As Carlo is collecting his own knives, he walks over to Oceana. "Hey, you're pretty good at that. I hope I can do a little better than I did before the next time I have to throw knives. So, uh... Nice tattoo." He said. He gave himself a mental facepalm after that last part. |

"Hah, thanks." He says. He aims one of his knives towards Oceana's target and it hits in the center of the triangle she was working on. His next knife goes into his own target. The last one he holds on to until Jake tells him to throw it or leave. |

Oceana looks bored after a while. She starts doing some knife tricks, and hitting the target while sitting down. "Are we done yet?" She asks Jake, her tank top now covering her tattoo.

"Yes, you can all go. You will be called back in at exactly 7 PM to get on the train for capture the flag." Says Jake. Carlo nods and heads back to the dorm. When he gets there, he sits on his bed. He is talking to the girl on the other bed nearby.
"Oceana's a little... freaky don't you think?" Asks the girl, Rosa.
"Well, she can seem a bit threatening, but she's nice. I like her, and she's helped me become more Dauntless." He says to Rosa.
"What do you mean you 'like' her? Are you implying something?" Rosa asks.
"No! We're just friends!" Carlo answers immediately. Rosa laughs a bit and leaves the room to go somewhere else. |

"Hey," Oceana says, heading over to her bunk. She changes with her back facing Carlo, quick to get into her uniform for capture the flag. "I'm so going to bomb this if it involves guns."

"Don't worry. I'm not too good with guns either. I really hope we don't have to shoot at each other with actual guns though. Do they want all of the initiates dead?" Carlo spoke to Oceana. Carlo gets changed as well, only blocking himself from view when he changes what he's wearing on the bottom. He then heads over to talk to Oceana.
"So, what's up? Did you hear what Rosa had been saying about you?" Asks Carlo. |
