Aptitude test: My heart raced as I waited for the test. I had no idea what I was going to pick for the choosing ceremony. This was where I was going to get an idea. I slowly wiped my sweaty palms on my skirt as I entered the room. A girl stood by a chair looking at me. "Are you ready?" she asked. "Nope." I replied, taught never to lie. 

      She smiled then motioned me to come towards her. I slowly put one foot after the other, walking as confident as possible. I couldn't help but think of all the things that could go wrong. I sat in the chair as she injected of what I was pretty sure was the serum. "Just trust your instincts." She said as I slowly drifted away from the Earth.

    I gasped and sat up, looking at my surroundings. (I don't know what to do for the test so I'll just skip it...) I woke up, finished with the test. The lady stared at me. "Oh no. We have to get you out of here." She said hurriedly. "Wait! What do you mean?" I asked confused. "You're divergent. I don't know if you have heard that before but people like you aren't that liked around here." She said quickly. I thought for a moment. I did know what that was. "Wait, but what do I choose for the ceremony?" "Trust your instincts," she said again. "Go now! I'll think of something." I left the room and ran home. What will I ever do?             

Choosing Ceremony: I walked with my family to the choosing ceremony. There were so much people. I quickly sat down in my seat next to my older brother and listened to the leaders of the community. Well, not really listened. I basically tuned out everyone once I sat down, thinking about my decision. People started to come down to choose their faction.

      Someone said a name but I was too deep in thought to notice. Then my brother started nudging me. I narrowed my eyes at him, only to realize it was my turn. I stood up slowly, patting my clothes down then started toward the 5 bowls. I looked down at the knife and picked it up. It was so shiny. I pressed it into my hand, making blood rise to the surface. "It's now or never." I thought as I held my hand over the Candor bowl.

    But right before the blood dropped, my hand had a mind of it's own and it moved itself to the left. The blood dropped and I heard cheering. My hand was moved over the Dauntless bowl. I widened my eyes as I slowly moved towards the Dauntless section. What was I thinking? Oh, that's right, I wasn't thinking. 

Appearance: Jaz has pale skin with brown eyes. She also has brown hair that she loves to put in a messy ponytail behind her. Her clothes give her that dirty look but she can look pretty cute when she wants to. Boys fall for her, but you have to be careful for she is danger. She gets into trouble way too much.

Personality: Jaz is a nice girl to talk to, she loves to help whenever she can and you can never get bored around her. She always has something to talk about and you would never get those awkward silent moments when you're have a conversation with her. She gets nervous sometimes but is really outgoing once you get to know her. Actually, she is pretty much outgoing with anybody. You seriously never know what she is going to do next.

    She has that thing to her that makes you want to talk to her for hours and is very social. Also, once you get her in your life, it's hard to get her out. She is amazing though so I don't think you would really mind. Jaz gets annoyed really quickly though and has a short patience. Don't expect her to wait, because waiting is not her favorite thing to do in the whole world and she believes not to waste time.
History: Jaz grew up in Candor where she was taught never to lie. So she doesn't. She never got to have any secrets and doesn't know politeness sometimes when it comes to talking, which she does a lot. Her older brother is her best friend and they do almost everything together, until the choosing ceremony. 'Faction before blood.' Remember that phrase? Well, it's in her daily life.

     She was heartbroken when she found out that she was going to be separated from him so she might be a little bitter and sad in the beginning of her life in Dauntless, but she gets over it. Her parents never really loved her so she didn't care much for them. She would've stayed in Candor just for her brother, because that is what he picked, to stay in his faction. But she decided it was time to leave.
