Character Name: Rowena Jennifer Queen
Nickname: (N/A)
Age: 20
Faction: Erudite
Transfer?: Transfer from Candor
Divergent?: No.
Aptitude test: "Rowena, correct? Right this way." says the Abnegation woman that will be conducting my test. "My name is Sender. I will be taking care of your Aptitude test today. Please have a seat." she continues. I do as she says and sit down. She hands me a clear vial with some liquid in it. I drink it and lean back in the chair. I begin to go in to a dream like state.
I stand up and before me are two objects. Some cheese, and a knife. A voice behind me tells me to choose, so I pick up both. I turn around as I hear the growling of a dog. It's heading towards me and I throw the cheese to my left, and the dog chases after it. Sneaking up behind it as it is finishing the cheese, I tackle it. It fights back and I threaten it with the knife. It sits, tilting its head at me with a confused look. I then awaken from the simulation.
"Erudite." Sender says. I nod.
"Thank you." I say, then exiting the room.
When I am then outside of the room, I go and sit back down at the table with the rest of my home faction, Candor. They are debating about things and giving each other truthful comments. I smile at my friend Hailey. She asks me what I got on my Aptitude test. We aren't supposed to tell others, but I look and make sure no one is listening besides us. I whisper 'Erudite' to her and she nods. She tells me that she got Candor. After a while, we exit the area of the testing and head back to our houses.
Choosing Ceremony: My name is called and I head up to the table at the front of the room with the bowls. I would be leaving my family, but I will be going to where I belong.
Faction before blood. I think. It's the motto of the factions. We are told this so we make the choice to go where we belong, rather than just making the choice to stay with our families. I pick up the knife that is sitting in front of me.
Taking a deep breath, I lightly cut my hand. I squeeze out a drop of blood into the water in the Erudite bowl. I am the first one in Erudite, and it turns the water slightly red. There is clapping in the section of the Erudite and I head over there. As I glance over at my family and friends in Candor, my parents are crying a bit and my friends are all reacting differently. Hailey is looking at me and she seems like she is going to cry. A few of my other friends are looking at the floor or glancing around the room. My ex boyfriend, Kinnies, seems to have a bit of a look of victory on his face.
I am welcomed by my new faction and some of them clap me on the back. One offers me a seat and I take it, thanking him. I hear the next name and the next and the next, my friends going up to choose their factions. None of them end up in Erudite with me. I wasn't too surprised though. Many of them considered me the brains of the group and I gladly took the compliment. Honesty is always appreciated in Candor. The only thing is, I can't think of myself as a Candor anymore, or any faction other than my new one. I am Erudite.
Appearance: Rowena Queen is a girl with bright blue eyes. She often wears her dark brown hair in a side ponytail. Standing at about 5' 4", she stands about the same height as her friends. Being in Erudite, she has to wear blue, which doesn't bother her. Most Erudite wear glasses, and she actually needs hers. Having visited one of her friends in Dauntless before, (which was rather scary for her.) She got an Erudite tattoo while she was there.
Personality: "Certainly intelligent and definitely someone you can trust." Some people may say while describing her. She still has some of her honesty from her old faction, but won't just blurt out things that may be offensive intentionally. You can often catch her reading or writing as well as working on something on the computer. She is quick witted and funny as well. Obviously, like everyone, she has flaws though. She is often a bit of a show off with her knowledge and isn't afraid to tell someone they're doing something wrong. Due to this, she often ends up accidentally offending people.
Being an Erudite has caused her to be a bit like the rest of her faction. She is the youngest Erudite leader, and she always wants more knowledge. She wouldn't be afraid to assist if there was a war among the factions. Though she doesn't think she would be the cause of any major conflict, she is often arguing. She always wants to prove her point and will use facts to back it up.
History: A leader of Erudite, though not in charge, Rowena is often hated. Her new boyfriend when she had recently joined Erudite, ended up forcing her to have a child. Rowena hated her boyfriend (Michael) after that and wanted to have him killed. Instead, since Rowena wasn't a leader at the time and just an initiate, the highest ranking Erudite leader compromised with Rowena and instead had Michael forced to become factionless, not allowing him to pass the initiation. When Rowena's parents in Candor saw the news that one of the initiates- their 16 year old daughter, had a child, they wanted nothing to do with her. They never even visited her on the visitation days.
For the past four years, Rowena has been living in Erudite headquarters as a form of protection for her. They ended up accepting her as a leader. Her daughter that was forced upon her, Bianca, is living with her as well. Her family that she lived with in Candor was just she and her parents. Her father, Casper, was a transfer from Dauntless, and her mother, Karaline, was a transfer from Amity. Despite her mother having been Amity-born, she could still feel hatred just as much as anyone else.
Being different and living in Erudite headquarters with a child, hasn't made Rowena very many friends. She also had broken up with her boyfriend, Kinnies, on visitation day one time when he came to visit her. She told him that since he didn't choose the same faction as her, and that she had already gone through a hard somewhat relationship with someone else, that she couldn't be with him. He had taken this very hard and stormed out of the Erudite compound. Luckily, Rowena has come across a few friends over the years.
