When Carlo is finally able to push himself in to a sitting position he looks at Oceana. "Osh, I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry. This is all my fault. I never should've came here. I'm the cause of more deaths than you think, in my mind. I felt the pain of all of them. Eagle, Rax, Ash, Flexitani and Rosa. Not only them, but the three innocent lives I destroyed at Erudite headquarters and the one at Candor. Nine people, Osh. As long as at least one person blames me for each of those deaths, I will feel their pain. If I have to face all of those again tomorrow, I'll be dead. Oceana, what do I do? You didn't have to face any deaths. Is that because you've never felt guilt for someone's death and you've never been blamed for it, or is it because you've never done it? Or is it because they pulled you out early? I just know that I will never be the same. I can't die here. I worked so hard to be where I am today and I'm ruining it all. Please, just help." |
