When the nurse comes in, Carlo covers his face with his hands. He wanted to be brave and he wanted to be Dauntless. Now all he wanted was to know his family was okay.

"I'll find Oceana and your family, okay?" Jess gets up from the chair and leaves the room. She comes back a few minutes later with Carlo's family, his father pushing Oceana in a wheelchair.

His parents came over to him and greeted him. They were glad to be back together even though his parents were unhappy he transferred. Then, from behind his parents he sees a tall, beautiful blonde girl dressed in gray. It's his sister, Kasey. A few years back he had transferred to Abnegation. He'd only seen her once since then.
"How's my Stiff of a big sister doing?" He jokes, pain in his side is prominent when he laughs a bit at his own joke.
Kasey smiles.
"I'm doing well. I hope you are feeling better. You've been here a while." Kasey greets.
"Oshi. Doing any better?" He asks Oceana.
"Hey, little man. I see you've got yourself a girlfriend. Congrats." His father says to him. He smiles a bit.

"I won't be able to walk for a month since the bullet broke the bone and they don't want me putting any pressure on it. Your dad is really cool though!"
Oceana smiles at him, leaning forward to give him a hug and a kiss. "I bet we can find another one of these and we can race in them. Just don't get shot. Or stabbed," she jokes, sitting upright.

"Haha, yeah." Says Carlo. "Remember what I said about the hip replacement? Rowena is really good with medical technology I heard. She could probably give you a prosthetic at some point. We still couldn't do much, but you would be able to walk. I should be able to soon, too. Those blood clot pills and pain killer is pretty helpful. Helps the healing."

"Actually, if the bone doesn't heal properly, then they'll do the prostetics." Oceana gives him a quick kiss. "I'll leave you with your family." She wheels her way out of the room.

After a while of being with his family, he rested for a while. When a few more days had passed, it had been a week since he was shot. He was finally allowed to get up. He had no idea where the others were staying so he wandered around until he found someone. |

"Oceana's boyfriend, yes. Don't know if I'd consider myself the 'hottie' part." He says with a bit of a laugh. He never really had people compliment him before. In Dauntless, not many people did that to anyone, and in Amity, they were sometimes afraid that those comments would make others jealous and therefore not peaceful. That's why Amity generally stayed away from saying anything like that. |
